Easy Ways to Stay Hydrated

There are many reasons to drink more water. For dancers it can help with more flexibility, energy, increased stamina, reduced risk of injury, and boosted immune system. Water plays a vital role in our health. Our bodies are made up of 70% of it! It is your job to replenish your body. Here is a list of ways to drink more water.


  1. Invest in a cute water bottle or tumbler. Taking water to-go is a must, especially for a busy lifestyle. Think of it as an accessory.

  2. Drink first thing in the morning. Make it a habit. Drinking water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach helps cleanse your colon, flush out toxins.

  3. Keep water next to you. Sip water while you are at school, in the car, or watching TV.

  4. Use a straw. Using a straw makes it easier to drink more water. It is because it feels more like a “treat”. Our brains are used to drinking out of straws at restaurants, coffee shops, etc.

  5. Set a reminder on your phone. First thing in the morning, afternoon, evening, and before bed.

  6. Every time you use the restroom drink water. Think of it as replenishing the loss of fluid.

  7. Mark a jug or water bottle with a time. It will serve as a schedule for drinking water throughout the day. Its easier to reach a goal when you have a plan of action.

  8. Keep water by your bed. Wake up in the middle of the night? Drink some water! Reach for your water before you even get out of bed!

  9. Create infused water with fruit or herbs. I love lemon & cucumber. Switching up the flavor is a fun way to encourage more drinking.

  10. Track your intake. It’s important to keep track of your water intake. Use an app or a planner.

  11. Drink water with every meal. Try to drink a glass before you take your first bite!
